The show is planned to broadcast on February 26th hosted by ABC. The widely popular program will be aired nationwide and to a plethora of countries across the globe.

Below is each category and the respected nominees that were announced this morning by the beautiful Jennifer Lawrence.

The Academy has decided to go with Billy Crystal for the hosting position. This will be his 9th crack at the job. Classy, witty, sarcastic social commentary ensues.

I’m sorry Alex. My deepest condolences go out to you.

I’m surprised Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close got in there. It kind of came and went, with not much critical acclaim

  4. Sam Fragoso on January 24, 2012 9:45 am

I’m planning on seeing it this week. Hopefully it’s worth of the acclaim.

For me the big surprises were the snubs for Fassbender, Brooks, and Woodley. I expect that the Academy wasn’t thrilled to recognize an NC-17 film or a violent crime drama. I’m most surprised that Woodley didn’t make it, but I guess they liked The Help enough to have to include two supporting actors. It’s also crazy to see Hugo and War Horse get so many nominations. I thought there might be more diversity in the secondary categories.

Apparently not. War Horse is fine and you know my stances on both THE HELP & HUGO.

I was pretty outraged by the whole NOM affair. But I need to get over it, as I know I will still be up all night watching it!

    Ahh, won’t we all.

It was great seeing Gary Oldman finally get the Oscar nomination he deserves. Can he turn that into a win…probably not – he deserves it but I’m guessing the Academy will play it safe.

  11. Sam Fragoso on January 25, 2012 11:17 am

He most certiainly deserved it, but he won’t
    Win.
