Beasts of the Southern Wild receives a glowing review from Dan Fogarty. A bit surprised by his unabashed love for it.

What’s your favorite ensemble cast of 2012? Ruth inquires.

Alex Thomas takes a crack at Les Miserables … strong writing.

Speaking of 2012, Sam and Chris discuss six films others loved, that they didn’t.

Eric reviews 2011, one year later. Great list of films — except for the fact that it’s missing Midnight In Paris.

Did you review Beasts, Sam? I hit the search function up, but all I could find was “Virtuoso filmmaking, inevitably sunk by its aesthetic and lack of narrative” :(

Thanks for the link, man. Can’t say I was a big fan of Midnight in Paris, though. Might have to give it another shot someday.

Thanks for the link Sam, some other great links here too.

Let me know how you find Les Miserables, while I didn’t love it definitely surprised me!

It’s been a very good year for ensemble casts, but if I had to pick right now, I’d say Seven Psychopaths.
