Before talking about our weekly articles, I’d like to say something. I’m no all knowing writer. I’m not too experienced or even necessarily wise. But what I can say with affirmation (after two + years of writing) is that before you put pen to paper, finger to keyboard, be sure you want to be in this for the long haul. Everyday I visit sites that were once filled with bold ideas and colorful language, but have now been diminished to nothing.

Writing is an art. One that the writer must attempt to understand and love. It’s not easy to do either, but if one wants to flourish in the medium, it’s necessary.

Now onto our articles …

Urgent: Andy Buckle’s Film Emporium has changed their url. Pleas update your feeders and blogrolls to this.

Casino Top 10 lists their 5 favorite casino movies this week. Any list that contains Martin Scorsese’s Casino is all right by me.

It has been a big couple of weeks for my man Alex Withrow. First the changing of his url, now looking over the career of the iconic director Spike Lee.

Bonjour Tristesse has now become my essential site for all things foreign film.

New Year’s resolutions often fade quickly. Not for John over at The Droid You’re Looking For. I’m staying for the Bergman.

Ryan McNeil gives a glowing review to what I felt was a disposable, ill intentioned mess: We Need To Talk About Kevin.

There’s no denying it: Can’t Stop The Movies is on the up and up. With a talented staff of writers, dedication, and prolific writing it’s a site not to miss.

I’m no TV connoisseur, but I’ve heard some great things about the new show Luck.

A fun comedy that was hastily overlooked her in the States … Horrible Bosses … reviewed by Fernby Films.

Front Room Cinema cobbles together their ten favorite gangster films based of real life events.

Lastly, you know who you should help send to the Cannes film festival this May? Writers Eric D. Snider and Jeff Bayer. They recently began a kickstarter campaign where you can donate any amount of currency you desire. It’s for a good cause, too: that is, allowing two unique writers to a festival providing coverage we can read. Oh, and they’re pretty kind folks too (if that means anything to you).

Have a nice Monday everyone. Be safe and enjoy reading.
